Selective Membership is now available for a new Coraggio Advisory Board (CAB) commencing in Sydney and chaired by Peter Kearney, an experienced senior executive and board director.

Peter Kearney, B.Com Hons M.AppFin, spent the first decade of his career working as a Chartered Accountant in both public practice and in corporate before finding his true calling in business innovation and transformation. During his time with a significant British technology company, ICL, in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, he gained valuable exposure early in his career to the issues that businesses face in the context of strategic change. This experience laid the foundation for his future career, which he has pursued in roles as an entrepreneur, consultant and corporate executive.

In a business startup context, Peter has a wide range of experiences primarily in the technology and business consulting fields. In the 1990’s he performed played a key role in establishing regional operations for a number companies and products including TeamWare, Dodge, Thawte and X-Pert. Some of the businesses, like Thawte, were enormously successful, while might be best characterised as valuable learning experiences. Recently, he has fulfilled an executive role in a private equity firm, implementing transformational changes for a number startups, including Ondek, WhiteSky Labs and Envie. This brought him to the conclusion that success comes only to those who are prepared to fail.

In a corporate context, Peter has performed work for Nissan, Novartis, Nedcor Bank, Rand Merchant Bank, BT, Tenix, Siemens, Allco Finance and many others companies. He spent over ten years working with PBL Media companies, including ACP Magazines (now Bauer Media) and Nine Entertainment and was instrumental in introducing and managing numerous organisational change initiatives across the group. Through these experiences, he has learned that few business problems can be solved without commitment and support; people commit to the things they believe in and support the things they have ownership in.

Peter’s approach is to stimulate open dialogue and encourage participants to reflect upon the business challenges and opportunities that they and other team members face. Solutions and ideas that we find in this context have far more resonance and validity than those found in books or thought up in isolation. The collaborative spirit of Coraggio is very much a reflection of the values and beliefs that Peter has developed through his career.

Coraggio Chairs have navigated decades of corporate experiences including failure and struggle. A professional chairperson provides the discipline and focus to help members learn new business styles and approaches from each other in a meaningful and immediately useful way.
